The Maverick Survival School became a registered charity to make our mission bigger than just survival skills — it’s about supporting people through real-life battles. Founded by Craig Harrison, a former army sniper who understands the lasting impact of trauma, we aim to provide accessible, nature-based experiences that build resilience, self-awareness, and mental wellbeing. Our mission is to help both veterans and civilians reconnect with themselves through the power of the wild — because survival isn't just about the outdoors, it's about what’s happening inside.
Our Story
Maverick Survival School was born from the lived experiences of Craig Harrison, a former British Army sniper who served for 22 years, including 10 operational tours. Like many veterans, Craig left the military with deep, invisible wounds — complex PTSD, anxiety, and a sense of disconnection from civilian life. Despite his years of dedicated service, what he found on the other side was a serious lack of structured, meaningful support for those transitioning out of the forces.

Too often, veterans are left to navigate trauma, identity loss, and isolation on their own. The systems in place are stretched thin, and many fall through the cracks. Craig was one of them — until he found solace, strength, and purpose in nature. The wilderness became more than just a place; it became a lifeline.

Driven by this experience, Craig founded Maverick Survival School — now a registered charity — to provide others with the kind of support he never received. Through immersive survival training, therapeutic guidance, and the grounding power of the natural world, the school helps people reconnect with themselves and others. It's not about quick fixes or false promises — it’s about creating space for real conversations, real skills, and real healing.

We work with small groups, combining elite military techniques with mental health insight to build resilience from the inside out. While our roots are in the veteran community, our doors are open to anyone in need of a reset — from civilians struggling with modern life to those quietly carrying past trauma.
Maverick Survival School exists because no one should be left behind. Not after the battle. Not after the uniform. Not ever.
